In Ghent many apartment buildings are townhouses split into three or four units, and the syndic is often one of the owners. Others are larger blocks around the Dampoort or in Gentbrugge. The same applies to both: it has to happen every week, and nobody wants to chase it themselves.

Ghent owners' associations — your questions

Our syndic is one of the owners. Do you work for small associations?

Yes. In Ghent that's very common with split townhouses. We make it as easy as possible for a volunteer syndic: one contact, one invoice a month, and photos so they don't have to go and check.

Our entrance hall has original cement tiles. How do you clean them?

With a pH-neutral product and little water. Cement tiles are porous and go dull with acidic or aggressive cleaners. If in doubt we test one tile in a corner first.

Do you do the bike store?

Yes, sweeping and clearing the sand and leaves that come in with the bikes. We only move bikes if that's agreed in advance, for example for an annual deep clean.

Do you put the bins out?

Yes, following IVAGO's collection calendar, and we bring them back in the next day.

There's a shop on the ground floor. Is that entrance included?

That depends on the deed of division. We agree upfront which parts are common and which private, so nothing falls between two parties.

What notice period applies?

Three months by registered letter.
